On Friday, 30th August 2024, the Mfantsipim community marked a pivotal moment in its history with the inauguration of the Mfantsipim 150th Anniversary Planning Committee. The event was held during the 51st Annual/13th Biennial Conference of the Methodist Church Ghana at Wesley Methodist Cathedral, Adum Kumasi, drawing together key stakeholders.
The inauguration officially launched the preparations for the school’s 150th anniversary, which will be celebrated in 2026. This milestone celebration will honor Mfantsipim’s legacy of producing leaders and professionals who have significantly shaped Ghana and beyond.

The Planning Committee is chaired by Capt. Johnny Yamoah (’72), a respected figure within the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association (MOBA). The committee, which includes representatives from MOBA, Mfantsipim, and Methodist Church Ghana, is tasked with organizing a series of events leading up to the anniversary.
Ebusuapanyin Moses Baiden Jr. (’83), addressed the gathering, expressing confidence in the committee’s ability to deliver a memorable celebration. The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, the Most Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo, also lent his support to the anniversary plans, underscoring the deep connection between the Methodist Church and Mfantsipim.
