GESC Jakarta Minor is a Dota 2 Indonesian tournament that takes place between March 15 and March 18. Action will unfold in the BSD city and the tournament will have a guaranteed prize pool of $300,000. As Indonesian eSports competitions go this is the best paying one in history and sets an important milestone for the gaming community. Qualifiers start on February 20 and take place via FaceIT.

The most successful players will advance to the closed qualifiers which run between February 22 and February 25. During the open qualifiers anyone can participate, as long as the team is based in Indonesia or consists of at least three Indonesian nationals. The goal is to provide local players with the incentive to make their debut in the highly competitive eSports arena.

Evil Geniuses to Play In GESC Jakarta Minor

Evil Geniuses were the only team to secure a direct invitation to the GESC Jakarta Minor and they have already confirmed their participation. For the Indonesian teams, the open qualifiers represent an excellent opportunity to attend a competition featuring the best Dota 2 teams in the world. Once the Chinese and European closed qualifiers conclude, four more teams will be invited from each region. The result will be a lineup of stellar Dota 2 squads competing for a share of a huge prize pool.

The LAN Minor event will last only three days and matches will be broadcasted live during the entire competition. All major regions are going to have representatives to the GESC Jakarta Minor and the favorites include Fnatic, Infamous and Na’Vi. The Dota 2 Indonesian Open Qualifiers are played in a best of three format, the same used during the closed stage. Only the final matches of the playoffs will require participating teams to win three matches to be crowned champions.
